Hi, my name is Julia. I’m a Surface Pattern Designer, Illustrator and Abstract Artist. My background is in graphic design, photography, painting, marketing, giftware and art licensing. My pattern style is a mix of abstract, fun illustrations and painterly designs full of color, personality and movement.
I’ve been creating art since a young age and always knew I wanted to pursue a career in design. About 5 years ago I came across the work of Designer Luli Shanchez and instantly connected with her style of surface pattern work for the home decor markets. It was then when I started to pursue my love for Surface Design and have been building my pattern library ever since.
I’m currently a Senior Designer and Lead Photographer at a small wholesale giftware company. This work provides a unique perspective for my pattern and trend research projects.
I hold a BFA in Advertising Art Direction from Columbia College Chicago and reside just outside of the city. You can catch me watching Queer Eye, daydreaming in Anthropologie, shopping for home decor accessories, catching up with friends and adding new patterns to my growing library of prints!
